After School Karate program provides a martial arts education which
teaches discipline, respect, self-control, concentration, goal setting,
positive thinking and of course, self-defense. It helps the children get
healthy, well- balanced physical exercise while improving
self-confidence.
Children will learn self-discipline, self-respect, self-control and
self- confidence.
Cerezo's Martial Arts’ After School Karate Program is designed for
children ages 5-13 years of age. Providing a structured after school
program for children in a traditional martial arts format. This program
is licensed as a daycare program through the State of California
This program builds self-esteem and helps the student gain confidence.
Respect for others and self-discipline are integral parts of our
program.
Practical self-defense is taught with emphasis on using defense
techniques only when absolutely necessary. Children are taught
self-control and to control anger in a healthy way.
The program is available full time (5 days per week) or part time (2 or
3 days per week M,W,F or T,TH). Complimentary transportation is available, if needed, from certain local
school to the karate program. The program begins at 2:30p.m. and ends at
6:00p.m. Children may be dropped off at 2:30p.m. or later and must be
picked up before 6:00p.m.
Evening Classes are also available and children may be able to stay
after 6:00p.m. for an additional fee for evening class. Please call or
come in for discount rate information.
At Cerezo's Martial Arts, the focus is on gaining self-discipline and
building confidence, as well as learning self-defense. Self-discipline
and confidence are the inner strengths which are nurtured and then
mobilized to create a more healthy person in mind, body and in spirit
and in turn enable them to defend themselves better. Classes consist of karate basics:

Basic forms (katas) are taught as exercises used to practice fighting
techniques. And basic one-step techniques (combination of blocks and
strikes for self-defense.) are also taught to give the student a working
knowledge of each technique taught in the class. Through martial arts training, sensei Abe strives to teach kids a better
way to communicate, have respect, acceptance of people for who they are
and willingness to learn new things while keeping an open mind. As for
adults, sensei Abe strives to show them healthy ways of relieving
stress, learning self-defense and getting a good aerobic workout.
